A multimedia opera
Ask Ada is a music theatre work for singer, 6 instruments (violin, viola, cello, harp, piano, percussion), electronics and video, composed by Yannis Kyriakides. The work revolves around Ada Lovelace, daughter of Lord Byron and famously credited as having written the first computer algorithm in 1843. Commissioned by The Greek National Opera it was first recorded at the Alternative Stage, in June 2021.
In collaboration with Yannis Kyiriakides
Composer Yannis Kyriakides invited me to collaborate in the creation of a multimedia opera based on the legendary Ada Lovelace. I made the real-time live-visuals and programmed a cueing system to synchronize audio events across scenes.
You can read here a detailed introduction to the work by librettist Theodora Delavault.
