Overview
Array of Detritus is the debut EP by ¬[d], an alias of Darien Brito, released in August 2013 on Entity — a Belgian netlabel dedicated to experimental electronic music. The EP marks an early and fully formed statement of intent: six tracks that establish a distinct sonic language built from fragmented textures, hand-crafted noise, and carefully composed atmosphere.
Sound & Approach
The record sits at the intersection of glitch, IDM, ambient and noise, moving fluidly between states without settling into any single genre. Each track occupies its own space — from the terse, percussive weight of PK722 and Collisions to the slow dissolution of the Dystopia diptych, subtitled Lethargic and Coma (a remix of Xanopticon's Constant track). Titles like Coleoptera and Axon point to a recurring interest in systems — biological, neurological, structural — and the textures that emerge when those systems fragment or fail.
Production
The material balances personal expression with a broader sonic architecture — dense where it needs to be, and spaciously dark where it doesn't.
