Live audiovisuals

Topologies is an audiovisual performance based on algorithmic processes that produce geometrical information from data. The origin of this data could be photographs, 3D models or height maps generated with noise.

Concept

The work traverses these geometries by applying various transformations and linking their appearances with clear sonic events. In computer graphics, it is common practice to recycle data so it can represent various things simultaneously, meaning that a 2D image can be simply a texture or converted into a geometry in 3 dimensions. The title “Topologies” is a reference to this property of space and transformation.
