Generative Art Collection
Paths is a generative art series, released in December 2021 on Art Blocks Playground. The collection comprises 523 unique on-chain outputs each an animated passage through a world that feels both alien and primordial.
Digital Landscapes
Each piece is an animated journey across various subterranean and aboveground environments — cave systems, eroded landscapes, exoplanetary surfaces — rendered in continuous motion as if the viewer is traveling through them. Everything, from the light to the terrain, is the result of mathematical functions calculated entirely on the GPU, using a technique called ray marching encoded in a single GLSL fragment shader. No meshes, no geometry — just pure mathematics resolving into space, depth, and atmosphere in real time.
The outputs vary across traits like terrain type, surface texture, color palette, lighting conditions, and camera perspective, producing a collection that ranges from ethereal dawn-lit plains to dense, claustrophobic tunnels. The work is best experienced on a large digital screen or projection, where its scale and resolution can fully unfold.
Paths is a nod to the expressive power of the shader — a medium where constraint breeds invention, and an entire universe fits inside a single file.
