Machine learning with Shaders

Machine Learning is rapidly emerging as a powerful tool for creative and artistic practice. Today, numerous platforms make it relatively easy for programmers to integrate these technologies into their projects. Yet, when we rely solely on existing platforms, we often gain only a surface-level understanding of how the algorithms actually function—and of the possibilities they truly hold.

TDNeuron was conceived as an experiment to dig deeper, born from a collaboration with my colleague and friend Tim Gerritsen since we were both interesting to implement the fundamental algorithms from scratch.

Repository

You can access the package through the TDNeuron Repository and explore a series of tutorials on implementing neural networks with shaders.

For a closer look, watch the video below for a walkthrough of TDNeuron presented at the Montreal TouchDesigner Summit.
